Marathon (2 days away): Do you really need to train?

Posted: 01/14/2011 in Introductions, Running, Worth Checking Out

Of the many cultural blindspots that most Americans have about Australia, like thinking everyone looks and sounds like Paul Hogan (aka Crocodile Dundee), I am saddened that people don’t know of Rove McManus and the comdey duo Hamish & Andy.

Rove has a “Late Night” television comedy program that hosts celebrities and musicians (not all that unsual), but often Radio DJ Duo “Hamish & Andy” embark on fantastic challenges .. nay quests, for the sole purpose of amazing comedy.

While I was in Australia I remember the creation of the People’s Chip, or the ever popular International Sport of Ghosting, but one thing that caught my attention at the end of my first year in the land of AUS was Hamish & Andy’s nod to the Marathon.

With this single video, the question must be asked:

Does a person really need to train for a marathon?

What do you think?
